Integrity is one of the most important values to own if you want to increase your level of confidence in the long run.
Building and maintaining integrity can also increase overall content within you.
There are many people that make promises to others and are unable to deliver. I used to be one of them. But I know now from personal experience, that this causes many things on a subconscious level from other people’s perspectives.
They may start losing respect for you, lose trust in you, may not be able to take you seriously as they might have used to, and possibly even inform others of your failure to deliver on your promises.
Now why am I so concerned with others perspective of you right now? You might ask.
Well, other people’s perspectives, the people that matter to us, can have a major influence on our level of confidence.
For example, if a person you’re close to keeps putting you down, over and over again, you might start to think that you are the kind of person he/she thinks you are.
If the same person treats you with utmost respect and genuinely shows that he/she has the best intentions for you in their heart, then your level of self-confidence would be much greater as a result.
Now, I’m not saying that you should build integrity in order to please others and try to manipulate them into liking you; no, that’s definitely not my intention.
You should do this for yourself because you have respect for yourself and so you keep the promises that you make.
With that being said, from now on, if you promise to be somewhere at a certain time, then be there at the time that was agreed upon.
If you stay true to this, you will know in the back of your mind, that you are not at fault and you’re not the one that deserves the blame.
It’s better to not promise anything than to promise someone something and not be able to deliver on that promise.
Lesson number three:
Minimize making promises.
Make promises only when necessary and make sure that you are able to
back up each promise.
If you continue delivering each promise, you will start to feel much better about yourself and ultimately, increase your level of respect for yourself.
This, in turn, will increase your level of self-confidence.
I hope you all enjoyed today’s post and hope you will join me on the journey to self-confidence mastery!
Cheers!
